Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty! (Evangelical Lutheran Worship 413)
1 Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
2 Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert and art, and evermore shalt be.
3 Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinfulness thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in pow’r, in love and purity.
4 Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Devotion
Old, familiar hymns bring joy and comfort as we join together to worship God, the Father, who loved us so much he sent his only son that we might be freed from the snare of sin and given the gift of eternal life by grace through faith. We lift up our voice, filled with the Holy Spirit who gathers us together as the body of Christ. We affirm our faith, acknowledging the Holy Trinity, as we recite the Apostle’s Creed, and we proclaim the mystery of faith during Holy Communion: Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.
May we pause to see the majesty of God in the beauty of nature that surrounds us. May we rest, dwelling in the Spirit who witnesses to our adoption as children of God, making us joint heirs with Christ. May we be filled with gratitude for the gift of grace through faith in Jesus who laid down his life that we might live.
Prayer
Almighty and merciful God in three persons, you indeed are holy. Strengthen our faith and bless us with your peace. Amen.
