Devotion
The power, glory, and majesty of the Lord is visible in nature. It’s easy to sense God’s power as we see tall trees swaying in the fury of a thunderstorm, backlit with spectacular flashes of lightning, and hear loud thunder booming from the heavens. The glory of the Lord sets the morning sky ablaze, as the sun rises in the east, awakening us to a new day filled with hope and possibilities. The Lord’s majesty is evident when eagles soar silently overhead or shooting stars animate the evening sky.
God who created the heavens and the earth called us by name and claimed us as children. Set free from the bondage of sin, having received the gift of grace through faith in Christ Jesus, we are attuned to the blessed Trinity—Father, Son, and Spirit—and enabled to discern the majesty and glory of the Lord that surrounds us, if we but pause, look, and listen.
Prayer
Loving Lord, we are in awe of your glory and humbled that you have claimed us as your own. Give us the strength to share your peace with others. Amen.
