I’m So Glad Jesus Lifted Me (Evangelical Lutheran Worship 860)
1 I’m so glad Jesus lifted me.
I’m so glad Jesus lifted me.
I’m so glad Jesus lifted me.
singing glory, hallelujah!
Jesus lifted me.
2 Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me.
Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me.
Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me.
singing glory, hallelujah!
Jesus lifted me.
3 When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me.
When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me.
When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me.
singing glory, hallelujah!
Jesus lifted me.

Devotion
One of the greatest changes that happens in our lives of following Jesus is to experience joy, the joy in knowing we are beloved, we are redeemed, we belong, we are free. In all of this we can be glad that Jesus has lifted us out of everything that ties us down, that brings us down, and instead lifts us up to new life. In our new redeemed life we are freed to love, we are freed to serve, we are freed to be more than we have ever been because of Jesus. We are lifted up from being bound by Satan, freed from sin that drags us down and destroys our joy. We are lifted up from the troubles in our lives because we have the joy of Jesus that lifts us up out of our troubles. Live in the joy of Jesus!
Prayer
Dear Jesus, we thank you for lifting us up out of all that drags us down. Amen.
