Devotion
Jesus had washed their feet, foretold his betrayal, given the new commandment, told them why they need not be troubled, and promised not to leave them orphaned. "My Father and I will make our home with you" (John 14:23). “And, as you listen, my joy will be in you” (John 15:11). Friends, it is time to testify.
You have had your beginnings with Jesus. Shortly before my brother died, his pastor asked him if he was afraid. “How can I be afraid,” he replied, "I have never known life apart from my Lord Jesus."
Randy Travis sings: When Momma prays, Jesus is there. And, you and I have other words with which to testify. The Spirit moves among us, grace floods us, peace surprises us and hope hangs on. I tell you the truth; the Spirit has touched us on purpose. Testify!
Prayer
Loving God, as your Spirit testifies your truth to us, let us testify your truth to the world. Amen.
