|Congregation Description:||This congregation sits in the midst of a "bedroom community" of St. Paul/ Minneapolis. It is largely middle-class and Anglo, with a growing bit of diversity. We worship twice on Sundays (8:30 and 11am) with Sunday School for all ages between services (9:45). On Wednesday nights, we have programs and classes for all youth in grades 6-12, as well as choir for adults. We are trying to do more and better ministry with people of a wide range of abilities and disabilities, and are currently focusing on "community" and "generosity" as ministry goals. We have 2 non-stipendiary staff members: one is our Pastoral Care Coordinator (PT, AiM), and one is our Adult Faith Formation Coordinator (PT, ordained). We have also had a number of students here throughout the years: interns from Luther Seminary, a contextual ed student (2 years), a Bethel College student, etc. This congregation loves working with students. Our newest mission and outreach foci are two: a targeted outreach to the Hugo/ North White Bear area, and a focus on young adults. There is also a group gathering momentum to go on a Mission Jamaica trip next spring (2013).|

|Autobiography:||My name is Kathryn Tiede. I became the pastor here at Living Waters in September 2007. Previous to that, I spent about five years serving through the CCM as a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. There I served as the rector of a small bilingual mission church (Spanish and English) and as the Associate for Pastoral Care in a large, affluent downtown parish. I was ordained in the ELCA through the Minneapolis Area Synod, where I served as the Pastor for Discipleship at Servant of Christ Lutheran in Champlin, MN.|
I am the mother of 4 beaugiful children: Mary Clare (13), Jonn (11), Anna Grace (9), and Ruthie (6). I am wife to Gary Guptill, and stepmother to his daughters: Meagan (17) and Maren (14). Life is rich and full and good.
In my spare time (!!?!?), I am a wanna-be athlete, competing in triathlons and running some. I love to read and to camp and to be outdoors, and to spend time with my kids.
I completed the MDiv at Harvard Divinity School and the STM at Lutheran Southern Theological Seminary.
I think that I am a good mentor for up-and-coming pastors and church workers. I love the church and this life, and can instill that enthusiasm in others.
I serve on the ELCA Church Council and as the ELCA Church Council liaison to the Episcopal Church's Executive Committee. Both of these obligations keep me engaged with the larger church on a regular basis.
