Congregation Description:St. Luke's is a first tier suburban congregation with a growing and changing community around the church. Many new, young families are moving in as seniors transition to other housing. We are located across from Bloomington city hall and city complex. St. Luke's is celebrating 90 years of mission in Bloomington with a close connection with VEAP, the largest food shelf in MN.
St. Luke's prides itself with a rich ministry of music and worship. The children's ministry is increasing in #s following a 5 year decline. The Confirmation program and Sr. High Youth program are stable at this time and are poised for growth in the next couple years.
We have two services each Sun: 8:30 (traditional ELW) and 10:00 contemporary. Sun. School is held on Sundays and Wed. nights are filled with children's programs, confirmation, children, youth, and adult choirs.
We are entering a Visioning process this fall and a new Capital Appeal campaign.
Congregation Keywords:Suburban, rich history, strong service DNA (food and clothing assistance), healthy (no scandals or staff misconduct in its history.
