LBW #170, Crown Him with Many Crowns
Devotion
Christ the King Sunday is the New Year’s Eve of the liturgical church year. We’ve completed a journey that began a year ago on the first week of December, and have moved from a baby in Bethlehem to a King who reigns over all of life. All of life is held richly in God’s hands — Jesus Christ, our King. He is our Hosanna in the whirlwind.
Prayer
Crown him the Lord of love – behold his hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angels in the sky, can fully bear that sight,
But downward bend their burning eyes at mysteries so bright.
