LBW #143, v. 3-4, “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds”
Devotion
Grant grace sufficient for life’s day that by our lives we truly say: ‘Christ has triumphed! He is living!’ That is a great prayer. Truly God gives us sufficient grace every day. God in wondrous and amazing grace forgives us and makes us be in a good relationship. It is all grace!
Yet we pray for more grace from God. We pray for it because we need it. We let the divisions and limits of human life consume us, so we lose sight of our unlimited God. God does not let death, paralysis, abandonment, lack of love, earthly reality, narrow visions, self righteous choseness, continental, gender, or religious boundaries stop God from triumphing in love. With this living, victorious Jesus close to us we want to share the news of God’s triumph beyond every boundary. When we do that, God’s victory, not our comfort becomes our focus.
Prayer
God, whose mightiness stretches beyond the farthest galaxy, whose love includes a cruel cross, and whose nearness is closer then our breath, please sustain your community with the Holy Spirit, and work your love in and through us to all people. Amen.
