WOV #713, “Lord, Let My Heart Be Good Soil”
Devotion
Lord, let my heart be good soil, open to the seed of your Word. Lord, let my heart be good soil; where love can grow and peace is understood. When my heart is hard, break the stone away. When my heart is cold, warm, it with the day, when my heart is lost, lead me on your way. Lord, let my heart, Lord let my heart, Lord let my heart be good soil.
Right nutrients in soil yield harvests of beauty. Like the earth, our lives should yield love, peace, joy, kindness and gentleness. We nurture our hearts’ soil by gathering in communities of faith. Fellowship and encouraging words of God’s love in music and Scripture warm and soften cold hearts.
What is your heart’s soil? Where may God’s love soften you? What coldness in your life may the Word of God warm? Come, worship and celebrate God the gardener working in your life.
