“By Grace Through Faith”
Devotion
By grace through faith we rest within thy love,
Trust in thy pardon, look to thee above;
Welcomed by thee, we gladly are thine own,
With thankful hearts we bow before thy throne.
By grace through faith we’re held in love’s embrace,
And in our sin dare gaze upon thy face;
Hold us then, Lord, in arms of mercy strong,
That we with joy may lift to thee our song.
In graceful power, all thine, our strength we find,
For thou in love art mighty, good, and kind;
Enabled thus to give ourselves away,
We yield our all to trust, to serve, obey.
We love because we first are loved by thee,
Now all our thoughts are not of “mine” and “me”;
Freed from the bondage of our sinful greed,
We turn to see, to meet some other’s need.
By grace through faith we live, and also die,
Raised then by thee to greater life on high;
In that full life beyond the lonely grave,
We once again will praise thy power to save.
