Routine global communication and escalating non-northern European immigration make it clearer than ever that our Christian world isn’t the only world.
To be open to celebrating our common humanity with people of other faiths and open to the possibility that God may reveal something of the divine presence and nature in other faith traditions is not to deny what we believe God has done in Jesus Christ – it simply reminds us that God is God and we are not.
We know how God has come to us in Jesus Christ and we share that Word with the world. It is said that our task is to declare Christ to the world, using words if necessary. We share Christ not as dictators or conquerors, but as servants, trusting in the Holy Spirit to make our witness come alive to others.
