It is an empowering, bold, faithful thing to be a people who wait on the Lord...
It is well to re-learn the holy practice of waiting. Hold vigil. It is a holy thing to wait.
Mary the baby’s mother gave birth… then waited, pondered...
Eli told Samuel the boy prophet to go back to bed, and wait...
Jesus went into the wilderness, and waited...
Saul-become-Paul was told to go to Damascus, and wait...
The disciples in the adrenaline rush of Jesus’ ascension were told to go back to the city...and wait...
Wise Gamaliel counseled “Don’t rush to judge, just wait...”
We must not rush past the vigil. We must learn to wait. God is present here too.
