Verse 6'And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who is to shepherd my people Israel.'"
Devotion
A star shines over Bethlehem in Judea. It is amazing how often little towns play big roles in history. Some of the world’s most famous people have come from the smallest of places. We should not be surprised that a star leads us to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, a dot on the map. God continually uses the small places and people of this world to accomplish great purposes. A tiny baby is born in a little town. This child is the hope of the world! Who knows, maybe God can use little people like you and like me.
Prayer
Dear God, your ways continue to amaze us. You take the smallest of things and lift them up for your purposes. Let the light of your grace shine on our small places and on our individual lives that we, too, might serve your Son, born in the little town of Bethlehem. Amen.
