Devotion
“Lay aside immaturity, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”
Immaturity may show up as trying to impress others, comparing ourselves, and worrying about how the world will perceive us. Immaturity distracts and derails us from the wisdom of God and causes preoccupation with things that truly do not matter. It all comes back to whether or not we are secure and confident in our identity as children of God. The scriptures promise and teach us that true wisdom is a gift that comes from a gracious God. For if we are washed clean in the waters of baptism and sealed by the Holy Spirit forever, why waste our time with that which does not lead to life? Set immaturity aside, and walk in the wisdom, the way of insight, God lays before you as a path to wholeness of life.
Prayer
Holy God, help us cast aside immaturity and walk always in your wisdom. Amen.
