Congregation Description:The Congregation of St James AME sets in the Howe Community of the Longfellow neigborhood. It is a culturally and economically diverse community. We worship on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. Christian Education programs include Sunday School and midweek bible study. The Church is involved in a partnership with Here's Life inner city, GRIOT Leadership project providing youth development and college preparation. The major issues facing the congregation is training leadership and managing limited resources.

Autobiography:I am a 58 year old African American women ordained in 1987. I have served two AME congregations and 18 years as a Department of Corrections Chaplain for the State of Minnesota. My majors in college were Social work and Psychology. I graduated from Augustana College in Souix Falls, SD. I attended Bethel Theological Seminary and completed a MACE with youth ministry emphasis. I also completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Fairview hospitals Spiritual Care department. I have completed additional graduate course work through St Thomas and Lurther Seminary. I just finished reading James Cone "God of the Opressed" and The Forgotten Ways by Hirsh. I am involved in the follwoing community efforts: Longfellow faith community, Stair-step Foundation, Welcome Home prison re-entry program, AME Women in Ministry. I enjoy reading, going to movies and family gatherings. I also enjoy bringing people together and empowering people to grow in their ministry.
