Verse 4Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from one person's envy of another. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
Devotion
Hard work is a virtue, we are taught. But what motivates all that toil? Do we work hard for hard work’s sake? For the sake of material comfort? Ebenezer Scrooge worked hard, but what motivated his toil and skill? He hoarded wealth just to possess it, and didn’t use it to help others, or even to comfort himself. Do I do that?
Prayer
God, you give me great wealth. What do I use it for? Amen.
