God Will Take Care of You (This Far By Faith 152)
1 Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath his wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
Refrain:
God will take care of you,
through ev’ry day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
2 Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you. [Refrain]
3 No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon his breast,
God will take care of you. [Refrain]

Devotion
I have received encouragement and comfort through the years from this hymn composed by Civilla Martin, who also wrote the popular “His Eye Is On the Sparrow.”. It came to mind this summer when I was on an Alaskan cruise hosted by Bill & Gloria Gaither. Tragedy struck the day before the cruise was to leave from Seattle. Seven people were killed in a Wyoming plane crash, including three members of the musical group, the Nelons, who were scheduled to perform during the cruise.
I wondered how the artists would be able to sing after losing their friends. All during the week, the musicians sang from their hearts as they remembered their friends and gave moving testimonies of faith during such great tragedy. Through it all, I knew God was taking care of them.
Prayer
Dear Lord, we are in your care, but sometimes life’s circumstances seem too much to bear. Please help us to feel your love and your care in our troubled times. Amen.
