Application Process
The financial aid process typically begins after a student is
admitted to a degree program. The application and process will
be made available the first week of January each year.
In order to be eligible to apply for financial aid you must meet
the following criteria:
- Admitted to a degree program. Non-degree and certificate
students are not eligible for financial aid. Also at this
time Doctor of Ministry students are not eligible.
- Meet minimum course load guidelines for the various aid types.
These minimums can be found under their descriptions.
- Be in good academic standing.
For most students there will only be two steps in applying:
-
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - For
any one considering student loans the FAFSA is required.
However even if you are not considering loans we would still
encourage you to complete this application. Things change
over the course of a year and if we have your completed
application we can respond very quickly, via student loans, should
an emergency arise. Further, our office is often asked to
rank students by need or gifts from donors or outside agencies.
If we don't have the FAFSA information your application cannot be
considered. When you are completing the FAFSA you will need Luther
Seminary's federal code - G02357.
Clicking on the banner below will take you to the FAFSA
website.
-
Luther Seminary Financial Aid Application - This
application is completed on-line. You must already "exist"
in the system before you can gain access. Each year our
office will send out reminders as to students PIN numbers.
New students may request a PIN number by sending an email to
finaid@luthersem.edu and including their full name and
degree program and projected start term. Our office will email you
back your pin within 48 hours.

.

For 95% of students that is all that is required to apply.
In rare occasions students may be selected by the federal processor
to complete something called verification. If you are selected
our office will notify you and you will need to complete a couple
more forms for our office. You will also be required to
provide a signed copy of your previous years tax return. |
